My Cup Runneth Over!
September 23rd, 2007
During the Yom Kippur service last night, I said the prayer for making a good livelihood like I’ve never said it before.I’ve done workshops and a lot of soul searching, but didn’t realize that the idea of talking about money as a playwright was “unseemly” was not my own. It is an idea that is out there in the business, and I took it as truth. I came to realize this when Sarah Ruhl put that notion into words at the “New Face of Drama” lecture I attended earlier this month at the 92nd Street Y.
My new truth, my OWN truth, is that I can live an abundant life as a playwright and achieve my goal of financial freedom. I can almost hear the waves and the wind on the porch of my home by the sea.
